Amelie Sachs - Germany

We welcome German artist Amelie Sachs as part of the exchange residency project. Amelie will spend a one month artistic residency in Ard, in cooperation with the Leipzig International Art (LIA) Programme.

Amelie Sachs, born in 1996 in Munich, is a documentary photographer and picture editor specialising in portrait photography. She completed the international Photo II program at the Danish School of Media and Journalism in Aarhus in 2021 and earned a bachelor’s degree in Visual Journalism from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hanover in 2023.

Sachs has participated in the Canon Student Development Program (2021) and the Hamburg Portfolio Review (2022), and was a finalist for both the Otto Steinert Award and the Newcomer Award “Der Neue BFF Förderpreis” in 2022. Her work focuses on gender-sensitive topics and empowerment issues, and she has exhibited her projects in various group shows. She is a member of the journal collective, DGPh, BFF, and is represented by the agency “Agentur Focus” in Hamburg.
