Hashel Al Lamki - UAE
Hashel Al Lamki joined us from the UAE. He has spent a one-month artistic residency at ARD as part of our ARD International Art Residency Program.
Al Lamki is an Emirati painter and multidisciplinary artist whose work examines the relationship between humans and their environment, focusing on the interaction between natural and constructed spaces.
Influenced by the contrasting landscapes and rapid development in Al Ain city, his art merges social innovation, sustainability, and environmental consciousness. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Al Lamki has engaged in community-based art projects globally and co-founded the UAE artist-run space Bait 15. His practice blends cross-cultural experiences, scientific methods, and local artisanal techniques to explore themes like human migration, climate change, and interdependence with nature.
